A clear comparison
La Roche-Posay Double Repair vs Triple Repair: face or body cream?
Compare the exact US Toleriane Double Repair and Lipikar Triple Repair formulas, face use, niacinamide and practical downsides.

At a glance
Choose Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer when you want the brand’s lightweight everyday face cream. Compare Lipikar AP+MAX Triple Repair when you want a richer moisturizer for very dry face and body skin. Triple does not mean a stronger anti-aging treatment, and both current US formulas contain niacinamide.
This researched comparison concerns the non-SPF, non-Matte Double Repair and the current US Lipikar AP+MAX cream. Lipikar was formerly named AP+M. Other Double Repair products, including UV SPF 30 and moisturizing drops, need separate label checks. We have not personally tested these products.

What the ingredients change
Double Repair combines water-attracting glycerin with squalane, dimethicone and other ingredients that help the cream soften skin. Niacinamide and ceramide NP are present too. The current ingredient list is more useful than assuming that a facial moisturizer must be less nourishing than a body product.
Lipikar includes glycerin and dimethicone alongside shea butter and rapeseed oil. It also contains niacinamide and ceramide NP. Its rich positioning can make it worth considering when a lightweight face cream leaves dry areas uncomfortable, or when one product for face and body suits your routine.
There is no hyaluronic acid listed in the current US Lipikar formula checked for this article. Buying Triple Repair specifically to add hyaluronic acid would miss the actual formula. Neither the names nor an ingredient count establish which cream will give your face better results.
Pluses and minuses
Double Repair pluses
- A face-focused daily option with a lightweight texture described by the brand.
- Includes squalane, glycerin and ceramide NP without requiring another serum.
- A straightforward choice when a rich face-and-body cream is more than you want.
Double Repair minuses
- May not be rich enough for every very dry area.
- The similar UV and Matte names make selecting the exact formula important.
- The non-SPF version needs separate daytime sun protection.
Triple Repair pluses
- The manufacturer permits both facial and body use.
- Rich formula may fit a routine built around very dry areas.
- Can reduce the number of different moisturizers you buy when both areas tolerate it.
Triple Repair minuses
- A rich cream may feel excessive on less-dry areas or under your usual makeup.
- Contains niacinamide and botanical ingredients, including shea butter; check the full label against known restrictions.
- Neither its richer texture nor its name establishes a wrinkle or firmness advantage.
Questions before buying
What does Double Repair do?
It is a facial moisturizer. The manufacturer describes hydration and support for the skin barrier. These are brand claims about the finished product, not evidence that it corrects hormone changes or beats Lipikar in a clinical comparison.
Can Triple Repair go on the face?
Yes. Current US Lipikar AP+MAX directions include face and body. That permission does not guarantee that every person will like its richness or tolerate it.
