A clear comparison
Lipikar vs Cicaplast: daily cream or targeted balm for dry skin?
Compare current US Lipikar AP+MAX and Cicaplast Balm B5+ by intended use, niacinamide, skin-protectant label and where each belongs.

At a glance
Start by comparing Lipikar AP+MAX for regular face/body moisturizing. Consider Cicaplast Balm B5+ when you want its specific balm and skin-protectant use on dry, chapped or chafed areas. You do not need both simply because your skin feels drier around menopause. Neither product tells you why a patch is irritated.
This comparison uses the current US products, not every Lipikar lotion or an older European Cicaplast formula. We researched the labels and ingredient lists; we have not tested texture, makeup wear or results.

| Decision | Lipikar AP+MAX Triple Repair Cream | Cicaplast Balm B5+ |
|---|---|---|
| First reason to consider | Regular moisture for dry face/body skin | Specific balm for dry, chapped or chafed areas |
| Formula distinction | Shea butter, glycerin, niacinamide, ceramide NP | Panthenol, shea butter, skin-protectant dimethicone |
| Niacinamide | Present | Absent in checked US list |
| Checked application | Morning/night on clean face and body | Clean, dry skin; avoid eye area |
| US label distinction | Moisturizing cream | 1% dimethicone active skin protectant |
| Main limitation | Not a diagnosis or universal itch solution | Can duplicate a moisturizer you already like |
Both are fragrance-free in the checked US listings. Neither is a sunscreen. Ingredient lists that mention titanium dioxide do not establish an SPF claim.
Lipikar: useful as a regular moisturizing choice
Current US product page now identifies Lipikar AP+MAX Triple Repair Moisturizing Cream. Its formula includes niacinamide and ceramide NP. It is a face/body cream with morning and evening directions.
Pluses
- A defined everyday face/body job can keep the routine simple.
- A single product may cover your dry cheeks and other dry areas.
- A full list lets you check whether niacinamide fits your needs.
Minuses
- It does not fit an established exclusion for a listed ingredient.
- The brand’s itch-related claims do not identify the cause of your itch.
- A rich multipurpose cream may not match your preferred daytime feel.
Cicaplast: a different formulation and label
Current US Cicaplast Balm B5+ page lists 1% dimethicone as its active skin-protectant ingredient and highlights panthenol. The directions specify clean, dry skin and avoiding the eye area.
Pluses
- A distinct product to compare for its labelled skin-protectant job.
- Its checked formula omits niacinamide, unlike Lipikar.
- A targeted purchase can make sense when it serves a missing use.
Minuses
- The balm does not replace diagnosis or prescribed treatment.
- It may add little when your current moisturizer already suits the same area.
- Manufacturer description cannot establish how it wears under your foundation.
Should you use both?
Not automatically. They can overlap as moisturizing choices. Compare one product for the area and purpose you need before adding another; follow Cicaplast’s specific label rather than treating it as an unrestricted extra layer.
Persistent redness, pain, worsening itch or a rash needs assessment. Do not assume it is a normal menopause change or keep coating it with new cosmetics.
Questions before buying
What is Lipikar AP+M used for?
Check the version. The current US page reviewed here names AP+MAX for face/body moisturizing. An older AP+M bottle or regional balm needs its own formula and direction check.
Can Cicaplast replace my regular facial moisturizer?
The manufacturer’s FAQ allows all-over moisturizing use, but that does not make replacement necessary. Compare its directions, your preferred format and whether your current product already works.
Can I put Cicaplast around my eyes?
The checked US directions say to avoid the eye area. Follow that instruction.
