A clear comparison
Aveeno Skin Relief vs Daily Moisturizing Lotion: compare the US formulas
Choose between the exact US Aveeno body lotions by ordinary versus very dry skin needs, oat ingredients, fragrance and the limits of hydration claims.

At a glance
Compare Daily Moisturizing Lotion for ordinary body moisturizing, and Skin Relief Lotion if you specifically want its Triple Oat and shea formula for very dry skin. Keep either if it already suits you. The 48-hour and 72-hour claims on the current pages do not prove Skin Relief will feel better or let you reapply less often.
This is a researched comparison of the US fragrance-free body lotions, without personal testing. It does not compare Skin Relief Intense Moisture Repair Cream, the overnight cream, coconut-scented lotion or UK 1-litre products.

Names and formula details are from the current Daily Moisturizing US page and Skin Relief US page, checked October 8, 2026. Read the exact bottle name; colour alone cannot confirm its formula or market.
Ingredients: oat is not the whole lotion
Daily Moisturizing’s manufacturer list includes water, glycerin, petrolatum, oat kernel flour and dimethicone. The Skin Relief page highlights oat flour, oat extract, oat oil and shea butter. Both are finished formulas, rather than plain oat preparations.
Pluses and minuses
Daily Moisturizing Lotion
- Plus: a clear everyday body-moisture choice when this formula already works for you.
- Plus: no reason to upgrade merely because another bottle advertises a longer duration.
- Minus: a lotion can be insufficient for very dry areas.
- Minus: we cannot promise its advertised quick absorption or its finish beneath clothes.
Skin Relief Lotion
- Plus: a distinct Triple Oat and shea formula to compare when you want an alternative.
- Plus: the exact fragrance-free variant keeps added scent out of this purchasing choice.
- Minus: another lotion may be the wrong purchase if your current lotion format is already inadequate.
- Minus: a dry-skin claim does not identify the cause of persistent itch or replace a treatment plan.
Should you move from Daily to Skin Relief?
First decide what is missing. If Daily leaves your arms and legs comfortable, there is no demonstrated need to buy Skin Relief because menopause has begun. If selected patches stay dry, comparing a cream may be more useful than buying two lotions.
AAD guidance for dry-skin care recommends creams or ointments for very dry skin. Our body-lotion guide explains that format branch. You can use a tolerated lotion over larger areas and reassess a cream for a different area rather than changing everything at once.
Questions before buying
What is the difference between Aveeno blue and green?
These colours are common shopping shorthand, but verify the full names. This page compares Skin Relief fragrance-free lotion with Daily Moisturizing fragrance-free lotion, not every blue or green Aveeno package.
Is Skin Relief better because it says 72 hours?
The brand reports different hydration-duration assessments. They are not a personal head-to-head result, and they do not override the directions or how dry your skin feels after washing.
Can either treat menopause itch?
Neither comparison establishes that. Ordinary moisture can be useful when dryness is the issue, but persistent or unexplained itch needs a qualified clinician. Use our itchy-skin guide for the care boundary.
Do I need a matching body wash?
No matching-brand requirement is established here. Keep a tolerated gentle wash. AAD guidance for skin care during menopause supports a simple routine; buying a whole collection is not the same as meeting your skin’s needs.
